The Abbasi Caravanserai is a restored caravanserai (inn) used by travelers during the Safavid dynasty.  The restored caravanserai includes a large yard in the middle with traditional and contemporary restaurants, a tea shop as well as other shops selling works of arts from Isfahan.

The caravanserai is located in the desert area about 40 Kilometers north of Isfahan on the main highway to Tehran.  While the Abbasi Caravanserai is open daily, it is a particularly popular place Thursday evenings and Fridays.

The traditional restaurant is located underground in the middle of the yard (see photo 3) for a comfortable climate in the desert.  Other shops are located around the perimeter of the yard.
